International community !
Jeudi 11 décembre 2008I promised my friends that I would write an article for them before I come back to France… As I begin today my last week at Umass (University of Massachusetts), it is time to do so!
After 4 months spent in New England, my stay reaches an end. My conclusion is that everyone should study abroad when possible. It is a unique and incredible experience!
I had the opportunity to meet amazing people here, with whom I made awesome trips… I went to Cape Code (a beach close to Boston) with 10 crazy kids, I hiked in Mount Adams under the rain, I went to Miami and discovered parties until 11am… I stayed in Boston and New York! And what about this old Volvo my friends bought, which allowed us to visit Washington, Montreal, Toronto and the Niagara falls…
Even more than sightseeing, spending time abroad is a way to open our minds. I have been raised in Paris all my life and I love this city. Still, meeting people from all around the planet makes us realize that our World is much bigger than our sweet capital! I now have friends from the U.S, Brazil, Venezuela, South Africa, Australia, Japan… And of course Germany, Spain, Italy, , England, Sweden and Denmark! All of these people have different ways of thinking, and perceive our environment differently.
Being one of the youngest students (internationals here are on average between 23 and 28) was also an occasion to realize that we have time. We are in France, really pressured to go quickly through studies… But we have time to discover our World!
Prestille is also going to benefit from my stay here! Although my English is still far from being perfect, I improved a lot especially in oral skills. Moreover, I met people really interested in expanding Prestille in their own countries! My friends from Spain Edu and Jaime for example, told me that they would be in whenever we are ready to lunch Prestille…!
My last class of the semester approaches and it is time to conclude:
THANK YOU ALL INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY !
